City staff is scheduled to give a presentation on an EMS billing RFP and transition to the Delaware City Council on Oct. 26, 2026.

Delaware City Council is scheduled to set Nov. 9 at 7:15 p.m. for a public hearing and first reading of Resolution No. 26-75, which authorizes the execution of an agreement for EMS billing services. Council is also scheduled to set Nov. 9 at 7:20 p.m. for a public hearing and first reading of Ordinance No. 26-62, which also authorizes execution of the billing services agreement. Both legislative identifiers allow residents to reference the exact measures before the scheduled public hearings.

The City of Delaware Fire Department established its fourth fire station in 2019 and receives nearly 7,000 service calls annually.

Third-party EMS billing contractors assist municipalities by processing emergency transport documentation, verifying insurance coverage, submitting claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers, and invoicing patients for applicable fees. A vendor transition coordinates software integration, patient record transfers, and regulatory compliance to ensure continuous revenue recovery while preventing billing disruptions for patients.

Open meetings of Delaware City Council are held in City Hall Council Chambers. Residents who attend in person may register to speak at the door, with comments limited to 3 minutes and a name and address required.

Emails, letters, and petitions received to the Council Clerk by 10 a.m. the date of the meeting will be presented to members and submitted into the public record, sent to councilclerk@cityofdelawareoh.gov. These items will not be read aloud during the meeting but will be available on the website following the meeting at the end of the next business day. The meeting will also be streamed live online through the events section of the city website.
