Columbus City Council gave first reading at its Nov. 2 meeting to modify and increase the architectural and engineering services agreement with BBCO Design LLC for the 2026 Data Center West Facility Upgrades project.
Municipal legislation records designate the measure with consent agenda status. A final vote is scheduled for Nov. 16. The legislation is filed on city records as Ordinance 2932-2026.
The measure authorizes the city's Office of Construction Management to modify and increase the architectural and engineering services agreement with BBCO Design LLC for the facility upgrades. The modification adds $154,660 to the original $282,791 contract, bringing the total agreement to $437,451. The additional funding covers Phase 2 of the project, authorizing the firm to prepare working drawings for construction and complete design work.
During the initial phase, BBCO identified facility needs and estimated costs to help city officials prioritize upgrades. City records note sufficient money is available in the municipal Information Services Capital Projects Fund to finance the modernization.
According to city legislation records, the original contract was awarded through a request for proposals process.
