Hilliard Council Considers Rezoning Davidson Road Land for Wolpert Development

Legislation introduced Monday would rezone 1.6 acres on Davidson Road to planned development and fold the site into the Wolpert Development corridor.

Hilliard City Council is scheduled to meet Monday, Oct. 26, for a regular council meeting at City Hall, 3800 Municipal Way. On the agenda under first readings is Ordinance 26-30, which proposes rezoning 1.616 acres on the north side of Davidson Road from low-density residential to planned unit development and would amend the development plan and text for the Wolpert Development PUD.

According to the city council agenda, the 1.616-acre site is located on the north side of Davidson Road approximately 2,200 feet west of Leap Road. In planning commission records, applicant Hilliard Development Corporation filed under case PZ-26-67 to rezone the 1.616-acre property at 4850 Davidson Road from R-1 Low Density Residential to Planned Unit Development and add the land to the Wolpert Development PUD. The Hilliard Planning and Zoning Commission scheduled its review of the rezoning application for its meeting on Thursday, Oct. 8.

First readings before City Council serve to introduce legislation without a public hearing or final vote. Under city council procedure, formal public hearings take place during second readings, giving members of the public an opportunity to sign in and address council members for up to three minutes. The rezoning measure is scheduled to advance to a second reading and public hearing at a subsequent meeting before the council votes on whether to adopt the change.
