Ohio Voter Registration Closes Monday Ahead of Nov. 3 General Election

Central Ohio residents have until 9 p.m. in person and 11:59 p.m. online to register before early voting starts Tuesday.

Ohio voter registration for the Nov. 3 general election closes Monday, Oct. 5, 2026, leaving eligible Central Ohio residents a final window to register or update their records before voting begins. In its voter guide, WTVG said that voters can register online or submit a printed form to their local elections office by 9 p.m. on Monday. WSYX said that county boards of elections and Ohio Secretary of State offices will be open until 9 p.m. Monday to process registrations. To register online, WSYX said that applicants need an Ohio driver’s license or identification card number, along with a birth date, address and Social Security number. Residents can also use the state portal to check whether their registration is up to date and locate their polling place. In Franklin County, residents registering in person can deliver paperwork directly to the Franklin County Board of Elections at 1700 Morse Road in Columbus. The Franklin County Board of Elections announced that completed voter registration forms and absentee ballot applications may also be deposited in its secure drop box outside the 1700 Morse Road facility, which is monitored under 24/7 video surveillance and checked daily by a bipartisan team of staff members.

Early voting across Ohio is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026. County boards of elections will host early in-person voting from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays during the first week, WTVG said. County election boards will also begin mailing absentee ballots to voters who requested them on Tuesday.
